Updating from WY

Two nights ago I decided after bath to weigh and mark the height of our boys on the closet door. The first height I had for Braxton was on Dec 28th, so from then to the 6th he has gained an inch in height and has gone from 21 lbs to 24.2 lbs. Brayden from his birthday in Oct has gained an inch and 1 lb up to 40.2 lbs. And I still can pick him up, aint that amazing!!! Or maybe its not so amazing as it might be more the reason for my backache!! Actually having a little one around requires more bending over and picking up than I am used to and so my lower back is complaining a lot!! Brayden is learning the last few letters of the alphabet now, I believe they are on the letter T now. He has such a great time at preschool, when I go to pick him up he is never ready to leave. It almost always takes an extra 10 min to get his coat on and his bag picked up. Somedays I take Braxton and some days I go alone. Braxton goes back in for more tests tomorrow, we are still working on the kidney diagnosis given in Russia. Last week we did the ultrasound on his kidneys, the dr said his left kidney might be slightly hydronephrosis, but more to come. So tomorrow will be the roughest day, we have to do the dye test for reflux from the bladder to the kidney to see if the valve works or not. They are guessing that it does work since he has no UTI currently. If the valve works then we are done and they will write his left kidney as normal for him tho it doesn't appear as normal as it might in other kids. I am in for tons of screaming tomorrow and who could blame him. I am just looking forward to the end of the day!! Our household continues to bond and evolve. Braxton is beginning to climb up on everything and get into everything. Up until now we were able to just put things on the back of the couch or on the piano to keep them out of reach. Well now we have to simply just put them away out of sight, out of reach in order to keep his hands off. :-) Its so fun to see his little brain working and beginning to put things together and want things. Now when he does start to talk we should be moving right along. We did have Braxton evaluated by CDS on Friday, he scores very well, average or above average on every level except for speech communication. Considering he has only been listening to our funny language for the last 7-8 weeks, its no wonder he isn't speaking. He will say mama if I prompt him enough, oh he has to be in the mood to say it too, but he does talk alot to himself as he plays. Nothing we can understand yet, but babble so thats good. He can stand up and sit down in the tub on command, and pick up his toys and put them away on command. We have to lead him around the house for the toys, but it works ok. He gets the idea anyway. We are thrilled for all the changes we see in our boys lives. Its been an amazing journey so far and we are looking forward to all that is to come.
