Still Sick

After 2.5 weeks of this one would think we could shake it, but alas its not to be. At least not without meds. I thought on Thurs that I was doing so good, feeling better and actually had energy etc. Woke up fri morn with the absolute worst sore throat I have ever had. By last night I could hardly swallow, at least without wincing a lot. I went for a strep test yest afternoon while the boys were napping and it was neg. Last night we had a really rough night, Brayden ran a fever again and spent most of the night in bed with us. That keeps us from sleeping very good anyway. Yest I made an appt with our weekend clinic for 9:50 this morning so Brayden and I both attended my Dr apptmt. We each had a new strep test done and they were both positive. He came home with Cephlexin for his antibiotic and I came home with one I have never had before. I know its strong tho cuz the dr also gave me a prescrip for yeast infection in the same apptmt because he expects this to give me one. :-) How often does a dr think ahead like that?? Not much in my experience so I was impressed. He also gave me prednezone because my throat is swelled so bad. I don't expect to take that for very long, the side effects dont look fun at all so will just do what it takes to get swallowing to an easier situation. We all napped for 2.5 hrs today, I felt much better after that too. Brayden is still running a low grade fever so might have just caught his at the beginning stages or something. Anyway, perhaps after 7 days of meds we can count ourselves among the healthy again. I am really looking forward to that phenomenon. We are using lysol like crazy and purell too trying to keep Braxton and Daddy from joining the ranks of the very sick. So far its working. Braxton has been relegated to the shop tho for safe keeping!! Unless he is sleeping that is. We are all occupying one bedroom for now, Brayden is on our floor. That way I keep an eye on his temp without traversing the stairs too much. All for now, just wanted a quick update. But a perspective on how sick Brayden is...he chose to stay in the car while I went into Walmart to get our meds. That NEVER happens.
