funnies from our son!!

A couple of funny little things Brayden has said the last couple of days. If I don't put them down somewhere I will forget them for certain. He woke up from his nap yesterday and said "Mama I just think I am awesome and I think my family is awesome too, what do you think mama?" Well I do think he is awesome and I am so very happy that he thinks all of us are awesome too. Really does my heart good to hear it sometimes tho. Lately he has been asking all the time if I still love him. I am not sure what is bringing it on but he will simply say "Mama do you love me?" I usually answer of course I love you very very much. After hearing this same question tho several times a day for several days, I finally looked up at him and said "no". He just stopped and looked at me so seriously and then we both busted out laughing. Its really been a funny series and like I said I don't know what has brought it on, but its been funny and heart warming. Last night while picking up toys, Brayden was going to leave his helicopter for Braxton to pick up and I told him no that he should pick it up cuz it was special. He piped up and said "yeah and it was cheap and expensive too so its very special to me, remember we got it in Casper Mama." Gotta love it, cheap and expensive in the same sentence regarding the same item. Guess it isn't clear yet that those two words are truly oposite. :-) Braxton is certainly trying to talk in sentences, trouble is we can't understand a thing he is saying. We have figured out he is calling everything "potty". Books, shoes, boots, whatever its all potty. Gonna have to get some other sounds to making sense or it will soon be very embarrassing!! :-)

last Sunday

Last Sunday we decided to run to town and pick up a few things and get lunch. Roger had a special plumbing project to complete and he hadn't gotten the right parts so to help him get it done so he could go back to work Monday we needed to take a ride. We were pulling into the walmart parking lot and Brayden asks "Mama why doesn't everybody go to mtg?" I explained that not everyone likes to go to church and not everyone believes in God. His answer "When I grow up I will go to mtg every Sunday and Wednesday just like we do now." Needless to say mama and daddy certainly hope he keeps this attitude. Its wonderful to see him respond when we ask if God would like what he had just done. He really seems to have a small grasp on what God wants his children to be and to do. Now if I can keep my grasp on what I know God wants, I will be able to instill in our children a respect and love for God and all that he has done for us and can do for us. The goals of our life certainly revolve around that and I hope we can complete it. Out of the mouths of babes certainly can come some wonderful truths, simple is best.

Playing on the bed

After school we decided to have a little fun just playing on the bed. The boys went from jumping over me to piling on me to being chickens. It was quite the fun little half hour or so and lots of laughs were shared as well as some pile on injuries. Mama has learned one of the sharpest parts of the human body is the elbow and wow it can hurt when there is 40 lbs of boy behind it!! But I wouldn't trade moments like this for anything in the whole world!!!

What kiddos won't think of...

Brayden informed Granny, Papa and myself that he got married at school on thursday. We asked him who he married and he said Anne, I told him he picked the prettiest one at least. Granny asked him how he went about getting married and he said "well me and David just decided to marry them" so we asked how they got married and he said "well they spanked us on our bums so I guess we are married"!! :-) Now that really made me back up...how many married couples has he seen smack each other on the bum??? Thats not common in our household, tho maybe it is in others so guess he picked it up somewhere!! We sure got a great laugh out of that one! Braxton is still eating a ton, must still be growing a ton tho I haven't put him on the door lately so don't really know. I do know some of his pants are getting to short so it must be going on. He still has the cute love handles so he is getting plenty to eat. His latest ongoing thing is to copy every single thing Brayden does which in turn drives Brayden NUTS. :-) I remember when my sister was that way too and it drove me up a tree. Mama has learned to not sit down when both are in the room cuz one will want up and then the other one does too and its really quite a lap full! Especially when they are competing for attention it can be downright dangerous. One at a time is best tho it always makes for tears. We had a beautiful day here today and Brayden played basketball outside and really enjoyed it. Roger was out too since he wanted to spray a few things today to free up the shop for bigger work tomorrow. All things are moving along normal like here. Just have to note the funnies once in a while or I will forever forget them and that is just sad.

random pics

Random pics of Braxton in the shop helping Daddy. He goes out there every morning unless Daddy is spraying or installing. If he doesn't get to go he usually has a hard time accepting it as its just the place to be. Today he was helping Daddy and concentrating very hard on it too. What a kiddo he is turning out to be...we are sure lucky to have two incredible boys.

Fun Day

A couple of weeks ago we had a fun Friday scheduled. Brayden wanted to go to school so he could go bowling and Braxton had a play date at the children's museum in Lander. The speech therapist recommended that we attend so he could play with children his own age and hear them speaking to each other. Braxton is coming along very well with speech therapy. His therapist told me last week that during his last session she wasn't able to keep track of all the words he was saying or trying to say so that was good. He is really trying to talk and some of the words are making sense and some of them aren't yet. Its a work in progress and we are simply glad for the progress. Brayden had a good day bowling too, I didn't get there in time for pictures as they were ready to start eating pizza and finish up. It was a big day and we stopped for frozen yogurt on the way home, it was a bit much for both of them as they fell asleep right away. Brayden fought it for quite a while, but he did eventually give it up. I had a few stops before heading on home. It was a good day and the boys did enjoy their outings. The bottom pic was the snowball throw, they threw styrofoam balls in the holes, then the metal magnet wall we rolled marbles down the troughs, Braxton kept going back to this all the time he really liked it. The wooden tool bench was fun for a little while and then the planets were fun because they moved around the circle for him. There was quite a bit to do, we were there for a little over an hour.

Funny quips

I haven't been posting much lately. However, we have some really funny quips recently. We have been reading about a murder trial lately in our newspaper. After our discussions the other night Brayden asked how people stayed out jail. We explained that everyone has to obey rules and behave to stay out of jail. Brayden says then "Has Papa ever gone to jail?" We said no Papa has always been good and obeyed the rules so he hasn't ever gone to jail. His next question was "Well how about Papa Great, he is soooo old, has he ever been in jail? It would be hard to be good for that long. " :-) This little boy has such a thought process!! Today I was helping at school and they have little books they are writing about their pets. Brayden picked his little kitty Pepper to write about. On one page he drew a picture of himself holding Pepper. He added some details on the cat and then a few on himself but he didn't put hair on his head. I asked him if he had hair, he said "No, I'm just a Dad." :-) Guess he doesn't think there are any dads out there that still have hair. :-) One can never deny the way a little brain works can be sooo funny!! Braxton is doing great with speech therapy. He is learning to mimic sounds better and even bantering about a few new words. Of course we can't understand much of what he is saying unless we have prompted him. As time goes on we will continue to make progress with his talking and will soon be able to really converse at least on a small level. It will certainly make a difference in our lives and we do look forward to that change. For now we remain very busy and enjoying life. We are all healthy tho I don't know how. Today there were 5 absent from Kindergarten, yesterday there were 7 absent. I don't know how long we will keep Brayden healthy, but we will keep trying to get him enough sleep and all he needs to try and keep it that way. I disinfected the entire Kindergarten room today hoping to help it out. The joys of public school.
