Snowman on Easter weekend
This snowman was fun to put together, the eyes, nose and arms are all icicles from the roof, then I got out the food coloring and dripped it on the icicles to get the eyes blue, nose orange and then used red for the mouth. Brayden then said that he needed buttons so I just went right down his front with red for buttons. It wasn't long though into the day and he began to resemble a snowman that had been shot, the red just bled and bled into itself and all the surrounding snow. I was really glad when he was melted enough to fall over and be removed from my sight. I won't use red for buttons again!!

Easter 2010
Its Easter Weekend and we had snow to begin with and now not much is left. Its beautiful out and most has melted away. Granny came down yest afternoon and spent the night and the morning with us. We dyed eggs last night and hid them this morning. The boys had so much fun looking for them, but it will be great to hide them and find them outside. Brayden and I went out and built a snowman this morning before the snow all went away. We used icicles for the eyes, nose and arms. We used food coloring to dye the icicles in the eyes blue and the nose orange, red for the mouth and buttons. As the snowman melted it began to look like it had been shot, but its was funny.
Braxton hung out with Granny in the house and cuddles were shared all around. It was a good time had by all. Now the boys are hanging out in the shop for the afternoon.
Wyoming court went easy as expected, we won't have the final decree till the end of June tho as we have to wait till he has been in our house for 6 months. Guess I got in a bit of a hurry, but the attorney and judge will finish it without us and just send the documents to us when its final. For now we have a interlocutory decree. No big deal, just not completely final.
We started to catch up the vaccinations yest, he did really well, no fever or anything. Its amazing. I only allowed two shots, will get more later. The only tears were during the shots. We do have a reoccurring case of scabies that he had when we got him out of the orphanage. So back to the prescrip cream. The first dose has made a difference again and will do the second dose on tues night again. I skipped the second dose the first time around, so lesson learned, hope this solves it permanently. I didn't know tho that scabies are the 7 year itch, guess its hard to get rid of completely, so we hope this will do it.
For now, we are all enjoying the weather and looking forward to warmer weather. Brayden is talking about planting the garden, he can't wait to get the corn up. I can't wait for the cucumbers. The yard was all ready for the snow, I had the flower beds cleaned out, Roger had the lawns mowed, so all was ready and now will turn green.
Easter hunting pics will be upcoming.

Its time again...
We got the call this afternoon, the Fremont County Court has set the date for our domestic part of our adoption. And its TOMORROW MORNING AT 11:00. The court did not mail out the notice to our attorney, instead choosing to put it in his box at the courthouse. He went today to file some papers and picked up a huge stack of paperwork, in it was our notice. SURPRISE, time to get our schedule fixed and get ourselves over there. Brayden has to miss school and he is NOT pleased with that, but this is a family occassion so he really shouldn't miss it. It will be nice to have this last piece of the puzzle finished and all the papers put away in the safe.
We are coming along health wise. Brayden still has quite a cough that I have decided has nothing to do with the strep and is probably a viral thing that most of his class still has too. I am much much better and don't have a cough at all except in the morning. I do hope Brayden can pull out of the cough thing pretty soon. Roger is still doing good and Braxton is amazing. His immunity is wonderful for now. He has a bit of a runny nose and some cough, but nothing compared to what the rest of us have had. I am so grateful for that.
Seems so odd to put this notice on here and have it be tomorrow so for those that wanted a heads up...well we barely got one. :-)
Good wednesday to everyone.

Still Sick
After 2.5 weeks of this one would think we could shake it, but alas its not to be. At least not without meds. I thought on Thurs that I was doing so good, feeling better and actually had energy etc. Woke up fri morn with the absolute worst sore throat I have ever had. By last night I could hardly swallow, at least without wincing a lot. I went for a strep test yest afternoon while the boys were napping and it was neg. Last night we had a really rough night, Brayden ran a fever again and spent most of the night in bed with us. That keeps us from sleeping very good anyway. Yest I made an appt with our weekend clinic for 9:50 this morning so Brayden and I both attended my Dr apptmt. We each had a new strep test done and they were both positive. He came home with Cephlexin for his antibiotic and I came home with one I have never had before. I know its strong tho cuz the dr also gave me a prescrip for yeast infection in the same apptmt because he expects this to give me one. :-) How often does a dr think ahead like that?? Not much in my experience so I was impressed. He also gave me prednezone because my throat is swelled so bad. I don't expect to take that for very long, the side effects dont look fun at all so will just do what it takes to get swallowing to an easier situation. We all napped for 2.5 hrs today, I felt much better after that too. Brayden is still running a low grade fever so might have just caught his at the beginning stages or something. Anyway, perhaps after 7 days of meds we can count ourselves among the healthy again. I am really looking forward to that phenomenon.
We are using lysol like crazy and purell too trying to keep Braxton and Daddy from joining the ranks of the very sick. So far its working. Braxton has been relegated to the shop tho for safe keeping!! Unless he is sleeping that is. We are all occupying one bedroom for now, Brayden is on our floor. That way I keep an eye on his temp without traversing the stairs too much.
All for now, just wanted a quick update. But a perspective on how sick Brayden is...he chose to stay in the car while I went into Walmart to get our meds. That NEVER happens.

Breakfast by Brayden
Brayden has decided that he is big enough to get breakfast ready and on the table before I get down to the kitchen. Its a big help really, I don't mind except that he put the milk on my cereal and on his cereal before I was even down here and ready. So it sat and soggied up for about 15 - 20 min before we got everyone to the table to eat. Lesson learned by all involved I do believe!! But he loves it and far be it from me to discourage help!!
