And so the story begins...
Good morning from DIA, we have officially cleared security and are now at our gate awaiting the arrival of our plane to Washington Dullus. They only took the shower gel, my bath and body lotion in a 4 oz bottle and my body butter from bath and body that I thought was too thick to qualify as liquid. So I guess we will just smell like all the rest of the Russians. :-) Actually, I did bring along a bar of soap, but it really boggles the mind, because that bottle of shower gel made the original trips to Russia twice and made the trip out to Cleveland two years ago as well. Just never can tell what they will allow from one time to the next. She was really nice about it, but it was still disgusting!!
We have seen a few child melt downs this morning already and even though we miss our little Brayden tons, I am so very aware that he would want "up" all the time. And to tell the truth, I couldn't carry him and pull the bags too. When we brought him home it was completely different as he was in the carrier on my chest and weighed a whopping 20 lbs, now at almost 40 lbs, it would really be a weight.
Our hotel was nice enough, we didn't really get much sleep, I pretty much slept like a baby woke up every hour and cried ya know. :-) Not really cried, just seemed to wake up a lot and roll alot. But I did get both cell phones charged that way. :-) We parked the car at the hotel and left it, taking the free shuttle this morning to the airport. We left at 5:45 a.m. so had our wake up call at 5 as we had to be in the lobby at 5:35. One other family was leaving the hotel for the airport on that same shuttle, they were from Virginia heading to Billings MT. Going to Glacier National Park.
I remember the constant checking to be sure my passport is still in my carrier from the last trip, well I am constantly checking it all over again!! It took a little while at the ticket counter, we had to talk to a person, couldn't just check in with the computer. Don't know why, perhaps it was the flight schedule or something. Anyway, we got all the boarding passes, we don't sit together on this flight, but the rest of them we do. Must be the "Cheap" tickets. :-)
This will be the last post till we reach Pskov. Unless I do post in Washington DC, don't know that I will, just have to see, we are supposed to have 3 hrs there, so we should be able to eat food in the airport to keep from having to partake of tooo much on the plane. I am officially entering DIET stage!! :-) Between airplane food and all the walking we will be doing, I lost weight last time, so probably will this time too.
Until next post, thanks for thinking of us and following along.
Brayden I wish you were in my suitcase!!
